A Mumbai-based content creator and actor whose roasts and family-oriented humor became a hit is Mahesh Keshwala. He was born on 9th September, 1996. Thugesh is a pseudonym used to refer to him.
Growth up to Mumbai
The actor hails from an Indian Gujarati community originally from Porbandar but is based in Mumbai. He grew up receiving support from his parents; the former running a small business while the latter helped the family stay connected.
The entertainer joined St. Xavier’s English High School before pursuing a degree at K.J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce. Moreover, he has been interested in law since he studied at VPM TMC Law College and Company Secretary Courses.

Foray into Modeling
Before becoming a YouTuber, Thugesh explored his modeling career between 2016 and 2017. His stint resulted in victories in interstate pageants as well as runway appearances during events such as Pune Fashion Week.
It was not a fruitful venture, considering he moved away shortly afterward, though it laid the groundwork for him.
YouTube Career and Rise of Thugesh
The entertainer ventured into creating YouTube content in January 2014 with compilations that lacked a face called Thug Life. These works were motivated by other personalities such as Bhuvan Bam and CarryMinati. An incident involving the Indian cricketer Chris Gayle made it clear that it was a good move when the video received 500,000 views within a day.
He transitioned to face cams to deliver non-abusive roasts and reactions to celebrities and trends, especially related to Bigg Boss. Currently, he operates two main YouTube channels: Thugesh which has over five million subscribers and Thugesh Unfiltered with vlogs, gaming, and challenges.
Some notable milestones include successful roasts which gained more subscribers and pivoting after demonetization setbacks.
TV and Acting Work
Thugesh Show, aired in 2023, is one of Mahesh’s biggest achievements. It involves interviewing guest creators, roast battles, and conversations in its episodes. Season one of the show had nearly 100 million views. In recognition of his excellent performance on the platform, he was conferred with Global Excellence Award for Best Talk Show and Comedic Critic of the Year.
The actor further joined Lafda Central in 2024 and appeared in music videos such as “Mukammal” by Yasser Desai in 2021. He was also included among Forbes India Digital Stars of comedy.
